PURPOSE: To modify the orbit of electron beams due to deflection distortion of a single electron bean system projection type cathode ray tube used for a projection television, a projector or the like to correct the shape of the electron beams on a screen to a substantially circle shape, thereby improving the focus performance of a display image on the screen. CONSTITUTION: A pair of magnets 23 and 24 whose magnetic directions are different from each other in the length direction(X axis) intersecting with a tube axis direction(Z axis) are arranged at the upper and lower parts of an opening part of a horizontal deflection coil 71 of a coil supporting part 20 into which a deflection yoke 7 is incorporated. The pair of the magnets 23 and 24 are embedded in the upper and lower parts on the opening side of the horizontal deflection coil 71 in the coil supporting part 20 to be held and fixed therein.
