PURPOSE: A method for performing bidirectional PLC(Power Line Communication) is provided to consecutively respond with 2 bits on a back end of a command transmitted by a master, without packet-processing an ACK(Acknowledgement) signal, thereby reducing data traffic as quickly processing the ACK signal. CONSTITUTION: When power is supplied, a transmission instrument becomes a standby state(900). If a host indicates to start searching a home code(902), the instrument transmits an optional home code with a home code hail request signal(904). All receiving instruments decide whether received home code data are equal to self home codes. If so, each receiving instrument transmits a hail NAK(No Acknowledgement) signal(906). If the home code data are different from the self home codes, each receiving instrument transmits a hail ACK signal(910). If neither of the receiving instruments does not transmit the hail NAK signal, a finally transmitted home code is reported to the host(912).
