PURPOSE: A system for displaying a geometrical position and a method for the same are provided to exactly and rapidly find the informed position by automatically displaying the informed position on the screen of the control center and on the screen of the car navigation apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A system for displaying a geometrical position includes a control center and a car navigation apparatus. The control center includes a geometrical information data base, a telephone number extraction part, a control computer, a geometrical information transmission unit and a display. And, the car navigation apparatus includes a geometrical information receiving unit, a current position detection unit, a system controller and a display. The current position detection unit detects the current position of the car through the GPS receiving unit and the position detection sensor and outputs the detected current position to the system controller. The system controller displays the current position with reference to the current position information transmitted from the current position detection unit and controls the display and the car navigation apparatus by reading the position information received from the geometrical information receiving unit.
