The measuring unit (3) has gauges (3a,3b) which indicate millimeters and hundredths of millimeters and a zero set adjustment (3c). The gauges are operated by a contact (3d) and the unit is secured to a feeler unit by means of a spindle (1). The feeler unit is fixed to the miller trolley and precise measurements may be made all along the profile of a cut key for comparison with corresponding measurements on the pattern key. An independent claim is also included for a key reproduction machine which includes the method of comparing the key dimensions directly. |
