The door stop consists of a vertical locking element (1) e.g. in the shape of the top half of a person, pivoted to a stirrup (4) on the end of a horizontal support (2) with a bolt (8) to fix it to a wall. The lower end of the stop has a narrow section to fit in the stirrup and two rear teeth (10) to engage with notches (11) in the stirrup to hold it in the locked position. A vertical slot (6) with a curved end (7) in the stop allows it to be lifted relative to its pivot and tilted forwards to release the shutter or door.
