PURPOSE: A cooling structure is provided to achieve improved cooling performance by allowing the oil to be smoothly fed into the oil gallery arranged in the upper portion of the piston. CONSTITUTION: A cooling structure comprises an oil gallery(22) formed in the upper portion of a piston(20); an oil inlet(23) for permitting the oil injected from an oil jet to flow into the oil gallery; and an oil outlet(24) for discharging the oil from the oil gallery. The oil inlet has an oil guide(25) for guiding the oil flow direction, and the oil outlet have a check valve(26) arranged at the intermediate portion of the oil outlet so that the check valve open only at the pressure level higher than a predetermined pressure level.
