PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance device for performing preventive maintenance of a network connecting apparatus 102, minimizing operation stoppage of the network connecting apparatus 102 by trouble, effectively coping with a case when some trouble is caused, and saving human resources. SOLUTION: The maintenance device is composed of one or more network connecting apparatuses 102 connected to the Internet 101 and a center server 104 existing in a maintenance center 103 connected to the Internet 101. A service agent operates on the network connecting apparatuses 102. A result report is received and stored by the maintenance center 103. Maintenance is performed by a maintenance browser.
