PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timer unit capable of notifying lapse of time instantaneously, and capable of notifying detailed clocking, and a laser pointer with the timer. SOLUTION: This laser pointer 10 with the timer is provided with a plurality of LEDs 12a-12d for notifying the remaining time or the like in the timer by a light emitting mode on a pointer body 10a surface, a laser emitting key 14, and a key board 15 (setting means), and is provided with a display part 24 having a matrix face constituted of a CPU 21, a ROM 22, a ROM 23 and an LCD, a key board 25 provided with the laser emitting key 14 and respective keys 15a-15f, and a laser output circuit 26, on the inside. The CPU 21 divides a set time of the timer in response to the number of the plurality of LEDs 12a-12d, and notifies the remaining time in the timer by lighting on or out the respective LEDs 12a-12d sequentially, for every lapse of the divided set time.
