DAMPER USING MAGNETIC FLUID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper wherein magnetic particles are hard to precipitate regardless of the kind of magnetic fluid. SOLUTION: This damper 110 is constituted of a container 112 housing the magnetic fluid 116 and a slider (a piston) 114. As the piston (slider) 114, a structure formed by laminating a paramagnetic material and a non-magnetic material is used. With this structure, particles showed with circles in a figure adhere the piston 114. The particles do not precipitate in the case of using any kind of magnetic fluid. Both ends of a layered body to be used for the piston is formed into a non-magnetic material so that the magnetic particles evenly adhere. If both the ends are formed into a magnetic material, the magnetic particles adhere both ends specularly. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
