PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small geared motor with worm capable of composing a wide range of reduction ratios at a low cost while keeping the center distance between input and output constant. SOLUTION: This small geared motor 1 with worm is provided with a worm 10 and a helical gear 11 to compose a first gear ratio, and three sets of gears 12-17 to compose second to fourth gear ratios. While using standard parts for the worm 10 and the helical gear 11, the gear ratios of the three sets of gears 12-17 are adjusted by the number of teeth, so that the reduction ratios of the geared motor 1 can be varied while the position of an output shaft 3 is kept constant. Since the gears 11-17 are supported by support plates 18 and 19, form of a case for containing the gears 11-17 and the support plates 18 and 19 need not be changed. The geared motor 1 can thus be manufactured at a low cost due to reduced die cost on the case. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
