PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera having an automatic take-up mechanism for a strap. SOLUTION: In the camera 1, at least the extreme portion of a strap body 10 allowed to hang down a body casing 2 is located outside the body casing 2. Its base end is housed in the body casing 2 through an access port formed in the body casing 2. The base end of the strap body 10 is fitted in the body casing 2. A take-up reel 5 taking up in a length-adjustable manner the strap body 10 by the elastic force of a taking-up spring 8 is housed in the body casing 2. Thus, the length of the strap body 10 is adjusted in accordance with the size of a hand and the size of a body of a user and the using form of the camera 1 to provide the camera 1 with good availability.
