PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat radiation property by simple structure and maintain high heat radiation characteristic for many hours. SOLUTION: A disc brake 1 converts kinetic energy of a disc 2 into heat to brake a wheel together with the disc 2 by pressing an inner pad 3 and an outer pad 4 against an inner friction face 2a and an outer friction face 2b of the disc 2 and generating friction. Contact parts of both friction faces 2a, 2b and both pads 3, 4 are wrapped by a metallic caliper 7. On the caliper 7, film having a high radiation rate are formed on both of an inner face 7a and an outer face 7b and thin film having high water repellent property are formed on surfaces of the film. The film is formed into a microporous film and has radiation rate of 0.7 or more. The thin film is made of fluoroalkylsilane substance and covers the surface of the film by a thickness smaller than that of the film. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
