The method involves computing a first cylinder charge value (LM1) for at least one cylinder with a model (1) depending on the engine revolution rate, a choke flap angle signal and/or an induction pipe pressure signal and/or one or more valve position parameters. A second charge value (LM2) is computed with a second model (2), the computed values are compared (3) and the first model is adapted according to the comparison result. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) an arrangement for determining a cylinder charge in an internal combustion engine.
