<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accounting system that enables efficient accounting and a customer's unconstrained shopping by quickly handling a customer's return. <P>SOLUTION: While or after being read (scanned) with a bar code scanner 13 at a register, a bar code on an article purchased by a customer is transmitted to and displayed on a display 12 with a touch panel as display selecting means connected to POS 11. The customer can select an article to be returned in dependence on the display on the touch panel display 12.
