PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head device having a shaft sliding rotation-type objective lens driving mechanism which can easily adjust lateral pressure pressing a shaft hole of a lens holder on a spindle of a holder support member. SOLUTION: In the shaft sliding rotation-type optical head device 1, the spindle 23 is set to be a magnetic body. A lateral pressure magnet 53 is fitted to a lens holder 10 as a lateral pressure member pressing an inner peripheral face of the shaft hole 12a to the spindle 23. The magnet is exchanged to a lateral pressure magnet 53 with such constitution. Thus, a force of lateral pressure S can easily be adjusted without changing a direction of lateral pressure S. Since magnetic pieces 51 and 52 for floating the lens holder 10 from a holder support member 20 are arranged in symmetrical positions with respect to the shaft hole 12a, there is little change in a posture of the lens holder 10 at the time of rotation.
