PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bias circuit for MR (magneto resistive) head which shortens a switching time from a write state to a read state in the bias circuit for MR head composed of a bias current output circuit which outputs a bias current fed to the MR head and a feedback circuit which detects voltage fluctuation on both ends of the MR head to which the bias current is fed and controls the output of the bias current from the bias current output circuit so as to control the voltage as a prescribed value. SOLUTION: The bias circuit is constituted by providing the bias current output circuit with a stabilization circuit which stably operates the bias current output circuit and a control circuit for stabilization circuit which controls the stabilization circuit into a prescribed state so that the control circuit for stabilization circuit is operated in the non-read state of the MR head. The stabilization circuit is formed as a circuit provided with an oscillation prevention capacitor and the control circuit for stabilization circuit is formed as a charging circuit of the oscillation prevention capacitor.
