PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument for an automobile with a structure for preventing its reflection in a windshield. SOLUTION: A dial 6 is provided with a transmitted light passage regulating part 12 capable of regulating the direction of emergence of light from a light source means 9 to a section except a windshield panel 1. A pointer means 7 is constituted of both a light shielding part arranged over the transmitted light passage regulating part 12 for shielding the light from the light source means 9 and an indicating part capable of indicating characters and scales by formation in predetermined shapes at parts of the light shielding part and of transmitting the light from the light source means 9 which transits through the transmitted light passage regulating part 12.
