PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize at least one from among improvement of measuring precision, reduction of time necessary for measurement and that measuring precision is not affected by temperature, as compared with a conventional optical inclination angle detecting device. SOLUTION: The inclination angle detecting device includes a unit to be projected including two or more kinds of materials, a light projecting unit for projecting a light to the unit to be projected, a light receiving part which receives a light containing a light which is projected from the projecting unit to the unit to be projected, and optically affected by the unit to be projected, converts the light to an electronic signal and outputs it, and a processing part which inputs the signal from the light receiving part, and calculates an inclination angle to the gravity direction, on the basis of the signal. The two or more kinds of materials accommodated in a vessel contain a part making a planar boundary vertical to the gravity at least in the case of inclination angle measurement. The inclination angle to the gravity direction is calculated by detecting the inclination of the boundary surface with the light receiving part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
