PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmentally-friendly buried steel pipe pile at a low cost. SOLUTION: In this buried steel pipe pile 1, a pile body 2 is formed of a general part 3 consisting of a steel pipe, which is formed to have a constant sectional diameter; and a tip part 4 consisting of a steel pipe, which is tapered in a member longitudinal direction to have an upper end surface 4a having the same sectional diameter as the general part 3and a lower end surface 4b formed with a large diameter, compared with the upper end surface 4a. The lower end surface of the general part 3 is fixed to the upper end surface 4a of the tip part 4 through a fixing means. A wing part 5 is a doughnut-like disc larger in diameter than the lower end surface 4b of the tip part 4 of the pile body 2 and having a hole 5a having the same inside diameter as the general part 3 of the pile body 2 in the center, which is partially cut in the radial direction and molded in a spiral shape. The lower end surface 4b of the tip part 4 of the pile body 2 is also spirally cut, and one surface of the wing part 5 and the lower end surface 4b of the tip part 4 of the pile body 2 are mutually fixed in face to face through a fixing means such as welding to form the buried steel pipe pile 1.
