PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method allowing a reset operation to be performed in a specified state of a trouble by detecting the trouble even if deposit is partially present on a sheet or a sensor or the trouble occurs and also an image formation apparatus to be continuously used in the sheet detection sensor of the image formation apparatus. SOLUTION: This sheet conveying apparatus comprises the sheet detection means having a positional displacement detection means for detecting the positional displacement of sheets in a direction orthogonal to a sheet conveying direction and a sheet type detection means for discriminating the type of the conveyed sheets.
