PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording system that can always perform recording on an adequate position by correcting variation of inserted positions of recording media when the recording medium is inserted and also to provide a recorder, a recording medium, and a method of correcting deviation in recording. SOLUTION: After a recording medium is conveyed to a predetermined position, a recording head records a lateral line 11 between check patterns 7, 8 before image data is recorded. The intersections between the lateral line 11 and the check patterns 7, 8 are input by a user. A skewing amount X and an index search displacement amount Y are obtained based on the input right index value and left index value. A host computer 2 performs a correcting operation such as parallel moving or rotational moving of the image data according to the amounts X and Y and transmits the image data subjected to the correcting operation to a printer 1, and then the printer 1 records the image data.
