PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality of an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which transmits ultrasound into a subject, receives echo signals that are the reflected waves, and is provided for diagnosis of images, or the like, based on the echo signals. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes an ultrasound probe, a transmitting part for transmitting ultrasound into the subject through an ultrasound probe, a receiving part for processing the receiving signals received from the subject through the ultrasound probe, an image construction part for producing images based on the receiving signals, and an image display part for displaying the images. The receiving part includes an intensity corresponding variable attenuation means for changing gains by responding to the signal intensity of the receiving signals and a time corresponding variable attenuation means for changing the gains by corresponding to the receiving timing of the receiving signals.
