<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate improved optical recording, with a simple film structure, on a recording layer composed of eco-friendly materials. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium 10 is provided, on a substrate 12, with a pair of dielectric layers 14A, 14B transformable by a laser beam which is an energy with the intensity modulated in accordance with information to be recorded, and a recording layer 18 composed of a record-supporting layer 16 which is held between the dielectric layers. The record-supporting layer 16 consists essentially of one element among Sn, Ti, Si, Bi, Ge, C, etc. The dielectric layers 14A, 14B have a base dielectric material consisting of one kind of material among ZnS, SiO<SB>2</SB>, AlN, Ta<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
