PRINTER, ITS CONTROL METHOD, AND PRINTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store a photographed image in a printer in the circumstances that a digital camera and a printer communicate with each other directly so that the photographed image can be printed directly.

SOLUTION: A printer 1000 and a digital camera DSC can be connected directly via a USB interface. When they are connected directly, the digital camera and the printer are operated as a printing system, and the DSC is operated as a user interface in the system. Thereby, a printing operation is executed when a printing command for an image desired is issued by the DSC. When a storage command is provided, the image is stored in a storage device in the printer so that loss of the original image data can be prevented even when the image is erased on the DSC side.
