<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously achieve improved portability and an enlarged screen of data display part. <P>SOLUTION: A handy terminal 1 comprises a main body unit 2 on the front face of which the data display part 3 of a comparatively large area is disposed, an optical head part 4 mounted detachably on the main body unit 2, and an operation unit 6 provided across the main body unit 2. The operation unit 6 has a cross section shaped like a rectangular frame surrounding the main body unit 2, and can reciprocate between a first position (figure 1 (b)) in which the operation unit 6 overlaps on the data display part 3 and a second position (figure 1(a)) in which the operation unit 6 is protruded downward from the main body unit 2 so that the whole of the data display part 3 is exposed. The position of the operation unit 6 is detected with electrodes 8, 9. When the unit is in the first position, the unit is switched to a power saving mode, and when the unit is moved to a position other than the first position, processing of information code reading with the optical head part 4 is permitted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
