PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve quality and reliability by enabling drying with a simple structure for blowing warm air and by avoiding degradation of a life of components due to a temperature adjustment for a washing and drying machine having a cleaning step composed of washing, rinsing and dewatering and a drying step. SOLUTION: In the washing and drying machine, an upper part of an outer frame 45 is covered by an outer frame cover 46, and an inner tub 4 with a rotary center axis in the roughly vertical direction is installed into an outer tub 3 held in the outer frame 45 to be freely rotated; outside air is intaken through an intaking air duct 44; the outside air taken in is blown through a blowing fan 35, a first casing 36 and a second casing 37; the outside air is heated by a heater 39; a temperature of the heated air is detected by a thermistor 41: and the heater 39 and thermistor 41 are connected to a control device 52. The control device 52 repeats current-carrying and current-uncarrying states of the heater 39 at predetermined time intervals, when the temperature detected by the thermistor 41 exceeds a predetermined value.
