A pluggable connector (20) for flat- or ribbon-cable, comprises a housing (18) with a accommodation zone for contacts (14) which are fixedly joined to exposed conductor ends (16) of the ribbon- or flat-cable (10). The contacts are encapsulated with electrical insulating material so that a contact zone strip (22) is formed at which contact zones (23) of the contacts remain free. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a pluggable connector.
