<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost safety device for an elevator without increasing weight of a car. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-car type elevator with the plurality of cars inside a hoistway has: lever pushrods 19 provided in the plurality of cars 11, 12, pressed by the other car when the cars approaching each other; and an emergency stop operation mechanism connected to the lever pushrods, operating when the lever pushrod is pushed to stop movement of the car. The emergency stop operation mechanism has: levers 20, 17 rotating around fulcrums in synchronization with vertical movement of the lever pushrod; and emergency stop members 14, 15 connected to the levers, stopping vertical movement of the car. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
