<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber for wavelength multiplexed transmission which can propagate Raman amplifying excitation light for amplifying signal light of 1.3μm band of wavelength at a low loss and perform the wavelength multiplexed transmission of signal light of S, C and L bands. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical fiber for wavelength multiplexed transmission, a transmission loss at 1380 nm wavelength is≤0.35 dB/km, effective core cross sections at 1300 nm and 1550 nm wavelength are 30 to 50μm<SP>2</SP>, zero dispersion wavelength is≤1400 nm, a dispersion slope at 1450 to 1550 nm wavelength is≤0.04 ps/(nm<SP>2</SP>km), and a dispersion value is≥1.0 ps/(nm km). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
