PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC socket capable of centering and positioning an IC package with a turnable positioning guide member in contact with a corner part of the IC package or a movable positioning guide member in contact with a side part of the IC package. SOLUTION: The IC socket of open top type, having a contact forming an electric connection by the insertion of the IC package, has a positioning mechanism positioning the IC package by pressing the IC package from four corners toward the center.
