The fire protection device (1) consists of a protection unit (100) installed ready for use in an opening (910) or recess etc in the wall (91), ceiling or floor of the structure and with a protection rating of K30-K90. The unit includes a fire propagation preventer (500) complete with prevention toroid (510) which expands in volume above 180[deg] C to fill out the section of the location space by means of a fire-prevention plastics laminate. The toroid is supported by a ring (550), or housing and is preferably relatively fixed or integrated with one or other of the preventer valves (300). The housing (501) has a channel turned inside out to take one of the toroid sidewalls (5102) as well as the ring (550) with a channel (5502) for the toroid (510). |
