PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a smooth accelerator feeling by suppressing the distortion of a friction part of a friction piece in structure of applying stepping force hysteresis by the friction piece. SOLUTION: This accelerator device is provided with an accelerator arm 12 having an accelerator pedal 11; a support case 13 enclosing an arm base end part 12a to support it through a support shaft 14; a return spring 16 for energizing the rotation of the arm 12 in a return direction to return the pedal 11 into the initial position; and an accelerator sensor 15 for detecting the rotating amount of the arm 12 as accelerator opening. A hysteresis generating mechanism comprises the friction pieces 20, 21 mounted to the arm base end part 12a, and the curved abutting face 20a abuts on an abutted face 19a of the friction part 19 of the support case 13. One end of the return spring 16 is connected to one end of the friction piece 20 to press the abutting face 20a of the friction piece 20 to the abutted face 19a of the friction part 19, and the other end is connected to the arm base end part 12a.
