PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security in a radio communication block in a wireless LAN system in which leaking or interception of communication data becomes a problem. SOLUTION: A client simultaneously sends a public key and one-way Hash to an access point (AP), and the AP saves only the public key and transmits the one-way Hash to an authentication server. Afterwards, the authentication server creates a WEP key based upon a creation algorithm of the WEP key and transmits it to the AP. Before transmitting the WEP key to the client, the AP enciphers the WEP key with the public key of the client. The client decodes the received enciphered WEP key with a secret key to obtain the WEP key created by the authentication server. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
