PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nuisance call suppression system in which a nuisance call is suppressed. SOLUTION: In response to a call origination request from a call originating side telephone set 2, an exchange 1 intermittently sends ring back tones to the call originating side telephone set 2. When the ring back tones are sent prescribed times, the exchange 1 notifies a call incoming side telephone set 3 of call originating side information and sends a calling signal. The ring back tones are outputted from the call originating side telephone set 2 and when the call originating side telephone set 2 is hung up without sounding call incoming tones and reporting the call originating side information in the call incoming side telephone set 3, on the other hand, it is defined that there is no call to the call incoming side telephone set 3.
