A data search system for searching desired data from the data recorded on a database according to a search condition set by a user. The system includes a search index recording section (11) and a management data recording unit (13), both for holding description column information indicating at least one per-item description column to be used for search among a plurality of per-item description columns for describing a search condition for each search item, and a search item acquisition section (23), a description column display instruction section (24) and a description column display section (43), the three for displaying at least one per-item description column indicated by the description column information and not displaying any per-item description column not indicated by the description column information. Thus, the search work will not be complicated even if the number of items of search conditions is increased.
