<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a good double row bearing for a rolling stock axle wherein friction of the inner surface of an inner ring with a ridge section is prevented from generating a flaw in the outer surface of the rolling stock axle. <P>SOLUTION: In the double row bearing 31 for the rolling stock axle, the inner rings 11 and 12 engaging with the rolling stock axle 1 are divided axially. The inner surfaces of respective inner rings 11 and 12 are provided with cylindrical straight sections 11c and 12c tightly engaging with the axle 1 and insertion guide surfaces 11b and 12b formed at the edges of the inner surfaces connecting with abutting end surfaces 11a and 12a. In mounting the bearing, a liquid layer 35 mixed with an extreme pressure additive where an FeS film is formed on a metal surface by reaction by occurrence of shearing stress on the metal surface by relative micro slip between the inner diameter and the axle during a bearing operation is interposed between the inner surface of each of the inner rings 11 and 12 and the outer surface of the axle 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
