A building is erected by first casting concrete in shuttering 11 for the pillars and shuttering 19 for the outside beams, floor shuttering 16 in the form of open bottomed boxes being raised into position by tackle 22 to form the shuttering for beams 14 and the inside of beams 19. The concrete framework for the required number of storeys is similarly cast in succession raising the shuttering 16 to each storey and erecting the pillar shuttering &c. The ceiling of the top storey is then cast on the shuttering 16 which is lowered in steps to the first storey to cast each floor in succession. The tackle 22 is mounted on top of guides 15 for the shuttering 16. |
