<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium exhibiting excellent glossiness and surface smoothness in which fading and discoloring of an image and migration of dye can be suppressed simultaneously in long term preservation. <P>SOLUTION: At least one ink receiving layer is provided on at least one side of a basic material wherein the ink receiving layer contains an alumina hydrate (A), a compound (B) represented by general formula (1), an acrylamide-diallylamine hydrochloride copolymer (C) represented by formula 2, a boron compound (D), magnesium salt (E), and water soluble resin and/or water dispersing resin. Mixing mass ratio of the (A), (B), (C), (D) and (E) satisfies formula 1 and formula 2 simultaneously and an arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) regulated by JIS-B-0601 satisfies formula 3. Formula 1 is represented by 0.1≤B/D≤15, formula 2 is represented by A≥12.5×(C+E), and formula 3 is represented by 0.02μm≤(Ra)≤0.1μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
