<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a large quantity of BCC type solid solution base hydrogen-storage alloy without needing homogenization treatment. <P>SOLUTION: After melting a raw material 5 for hydrogen-storage alloy in a crucible 2 with a high frequency induction coil 3, the molten alloy in the crucible 2 is made to flow on a surface of a cooling roll 1 to obtain a filmy hoop 6. Solidified segregation is reduced and a heat treatment process as a succeeding process is unnecessary and further, the hoop 6 is made thin to the extent that it can easily be crushed mechanically, so that, if necessary, it can easily be crushed. Furthermore, the hydrogen-storage alloy having performance almost same as that of the conventional alloy, can be produced in a large quantity at low cost at a time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
