<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a fuel cell made of metal capable of stably maintaining (having durability of) low resistance (high conductivity) and high corrosion resistance for a long time, and to provide a manufacturing method of the same. <P>SOLUTION: (1) The separator for a fuel cell 10 comprises a base material 11 made of metal, and a surface treatment layer 12 formed on the base material. The surface treatment layer 12 has a part 12a at base material side made of metal, and a part 12b at the side opposite to the base material, composed of carbon formed with the level of atom, or a complex compound of carbon and metal or semi-metal element. (2) The separator for a fuel cell comprises a surface treatment layer 12 which has a carbon particle complex film 16 on the part 12b at the side opposite to the base material, composed of carbon formed with the level of atom, or a complex compound of carbon and metal or semi-metal element. (3) The separator for a fuel cell is manufactured by forming a layer composed of carbon formed with the level of atom, or a complex compound of carbon and metal or semi-metal element, by dry coating method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
