PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the other user to observe an image a under condition which is closer to a condition of an image seen by the eyes of a user. SOLUTION: An external light beam R directed toward a focal point fL2of a half mirror 11L passes through the half mirror 11L and enters a half mirror 14L. The half mirror 14L reflects a part of the light beam R in a direction opposite to the incident direction and lets the remainder pass through into the half mirror 14L. The light beam passed through the half mirror 14L enters the left eye of the user which is located at the focal point fL2. The light beam reflected on the half mirror 14L travels in the backward direction at the locus of the light beam R entering the half mirror 14L and is reflected at the half mirror 14L before being received by a fisheye camera 12L located at the the focal point fL1of the half mirror 14L. Consequently, an object seen by the left eye of the user is imaged. The invention is applicable to imaging apparatuses. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
