PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having a dust collecting case the handleability of which is improved by controlling the operation timing of a buckle button for opening the lid body of the dust collecting case in the vacuum cleaner having a freely attachable and detachable dust collecting case for housing dust. SOLUTION: A dust collecting case 18 comprises: a case body 19; a lid body 21 provided freely openably and closably with a shaft 20 and a lid body spring 33 on the case body; a pressing lever 35 for fixing the lid body 21 and rotated by a shaft 34; a buckle button 22 slidable by a buckle button spring 36 for operating a pressing lever 35; and a buckle stopper 38 slidable by a spring. When the dust collecting case 18 is mounted on a vacuum cleaner body, the buckle stopper 38 is pressed by the wall surface of the vacuum cleaner body, slid to an intake port side and inserted into the lower part of the buckle button, the buckle button is turned to an inoperable state and the operation timing is controlled.
