PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound volume controller which can control volume adjustment appropriately in accordance with a sound state around a user. SOLUTION: The volume controller consists of: a sound input section; a volume adjustment section adjusting the volume of a sound inputted to the sound input section; a sound output section outputting the sound in which the volume is adjusted by means of the volume adjustment section; a microphone; a storage section storing a sound pattern; a sound pattern recognition section recognizing the sound pattern contained in the sound detected by means of the microphone; and volume control section instructing the adjustment of the sound to the volume adjustment section when the sound pattern recognition section confirms the sound pattern stored in the storage section in the sound detected by means of the microphone.
