PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for manufacturing an optical fiber cable to realize cost reduction by reducing the loss of material and labor cost. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 31 is manufactured by using a plurality of extruders 41, 42 and 45 to integrate respectively separately supplied strength members 32, optical fiber members 35, steel wires 37 and 37 by an external coating 36. At this time, overflow valves 12 of each the extruders 41, 42 and 45 are provided with driving mechanisms 13 and are provided with control panels 11 for controlling each of the driving mechanisms 13 and the manufacturing system 10. The optical fiber cable 31 is manufactured by operating the control panels 11 by an operator. The labor cost can therefore be decreased to reduce the cost of products. Since the control of opening/closing of all the overflow valves 12 is simultaneously performed, starting wastes can be decreased and the cost of the products reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
