PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cooling loss by reducing the leakage of cold in a cooling chamber to the outside and the heating of both the ends of a conveyor due to outdoor air. SOLUTION: Food heated and cooked by a heating cooking apparatus K is placed on the conveyor 2 in the cooling chamber 1 via a carry-in port 3 provided in the cooling chamber 1 and is cooled and processed within the cooling chamber 1. A carry-in means N is provided for receiving the heated and cooked food for transporting to the conveyor 2. The carry-in means N comprises: a placement table 25 for placing the received food; and a crank mechanism 26 for inserting the front end section of the placement table 25 into the carry-in port 3. Then, when the food is transported from the carry-in means N to the conveyor 2, a carry-in door 11 for opening or closing the carry-in port 3 is opened and the placement table 25 in the carry-in means N is inserted into the carry-in port 3 by a transport mechanism 26, thus transporting the food from the placement table 25 to the conveyor 2.
