A component-manipulation device, especially for small electrical items such as semiconductor chips (2) comprises two transporters (8,11) with holders (7,10) to move the items along (27). The second holder is tong-shaped and clamps the item between two holders (39) which can separate to release the item. An independent claim is also included for a device as above, especially for testing or measuring electrical components.
