MOLD FOR MOLDING METALLIC ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for molding a metallic article, which can prevent occurrence of flashing and can be opened holding the metallic article on the movable side of the mold.

SOLUTION: The mold is comprised of the fixed side(1) and the movable side(20) of the mold, and constitutes a tapered cavity(9a) for a sprue bush and similarly a tapered core part(23a) for a sprue core. The tapered cavity(9a) and the tapered core(23a) constitute an opening(S) to absorb a surging pressure. The opening(S) is formed surrounding the core part(23a). The distance of the opening is so arranged that molten metal doesn't enter at a normal feeding pressure but enters at a strong surging pressure such as at the final timing of feeding to release the molten metal pressure.
