PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double layer capacitor that can perform surface mounting capable of conducting reflow soldering. SOLUTION: In the electric double layer capacitor comprising an anode can 1 and a cathode can 4 via a gasket 7 made of a heat resistant resin, which are sealed by calking, the heat resistant resin of the gasket 7 contains inorganic filler having an average major axis 1/20 to 1/5 the minimum thickness portion of the gasket, and thus the gasket having a sufficient sealing characteristic even during reflow is obtained.
