PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract the outline of an object much more accurately. SOLUTION: An object outline extraction device is provided with a display means which displays a picture; an input means which designates an object in the picture displayed on the display means; a storage means which stores an input result of two or more patterns acquired as a result of designation by two or more users using the input means; and an integrated processing means which performs integrated processing of the input result of two or more patterns stored in the storage means, thereby calculating an ideal representative edge for the object in the picture. Thus, regarding an object which is difficult to extract automatically, the integrated processing can be performed based on the input result of two or more patterns acquired as a result of designation by the two or more users, so that an ideal representative edge approximating the actual outline of the object can be calculated.
