PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system for collectively controlling system software and data of respective terminals by a computer, and restoring the data lost by failure of the terminals in the computer system composed of the computer and a plurality of terminals. SOLUTION: The computer preserves the system software and the data of the terminals, and starts by downloading the system software by using a network to a download request from the respective terminals. The started terminal also downloads the data in a chain reaction to the other terminals. The data is divided, and is preserved on the respective terminals as a plurality of parity-added dispersive data so that the data can be restored even if the data partially lacks.
